True to our core principle of restore, not rebuild, this project is sustainable in the most basic sense. We worked closely with the builder to reconfigure the home, minimising steps and level changes and maximising functionality to ensure the owners can comfortably age in place.

The restrained material palette, inspired by the sandstone foreshore beneath the site, creates a timeless interior, whilst the facade has been refinished to celebrate the building’s unusual form and structure. Subtle details such as custom arrayed tiles and seamless thresholds minimise visual noise and help connect the inhabitants to the unbounded views of Sydney Harbour.
