Set on a corner site, the design proposal for this dwelling capitalises on the longitudinal elevation facing true north. This extensive facade controls climate, light, privacy and ventilation through an operable external skin, optimising the internal condition and generating a dynamic relationship with the surrounding context.

At the entry, the traditional “front room” split by sliding doors can shift effortlessly between bedrooms, a study or formal living and dining configurations. To the rear, open plan, hyper-functional living benefits from built in joinery flanking the perimeter of the house. On the first floor, the northern elevation comes into play once again, blurring the threshold between internal and external spaces.

At the intersection between contextual consideration and multi-use space, the home becomes a machine for flexible living.
